ASTM AZ150 0.4x1200mm Aluzinc Galvalume Steel Coil Chinese Supplier
Aluminum-Zinc coated steel coil is an advanced corrosion-resistant steel product manufactured
by hot-dip coating a cold-rolled or hot-rolled steel substrate with an alloy composed of 55% alu
-minum, 43.4% zinc, and 1.6% silicon. Known commercially as Galvalume, it combines aluminum’s
oxidation resistance with zinc’s sacrificial protection, making it superior to traditional galvanized steel
(GI) in harsh environments.
Composition
Base Material: Cold-rolled or hot-rolled steel (low-carbon steel).
Coating: An alloy of 55% aluminum, 43.4% zinc, and 1.6% silicon (common grades: AZ150,
AZ100, where the number indicates coating weight in g/m²). Silicon prevents brittle interme
-tallic formation between the coating and steel.
Product Specifications & Standards
Parameter | Typical Range | Int’l Standards |
Base Thickness | 0.2-3.0 mm | ASTM A792 (USA) |
Coating Weight | AZ60-AZ180 (total both sides) | JIS G3321 (Japan) |
Coil Width | 600-1500 mm (custom slitting available) | GB/T 14978 (China) |
Surface Finish | Smooth/matte/embossed/pre-painted | EN 10346 (Europe) |
Key Properties
Corrosion Resistance
Aluminum forms a dense oxide layer (Al₂O₃), resisting acids, alkalis, and moisture. Service
life is 2–6 times longer than regular galvanized steel. Zinc provides sacrificial protection, pr
-eventing rust even if the coating is scratched.
Heat Resistance
Withstands 300–500°C (aluminum’s high melting point: 660°C), whereas galvanized steel degrades
above 200°C.
Reflectivity & Aesthetics
Silver-gray surface reflects ≥80% of solar radiation, ideal for roofing. Can be painted (pre-painted coils)
for decorative purposes.
Formability
Good adhesion for stamping and bending, but higher hardness may increase tool wear.
Applications
Architectural Cladding
Roofing/wall panels – leverages reflectivity + corrosion resistance
HVAC ducts (resists condensation)
Home Appliances
Air conditioner housings (used by Gree/Haier)
Oven cavities (Midea built-in ovens)
Automotive Components
Mufflers/exhaust pipes (requires modified AZ coating)
Agricultural Infrastructure
Greenhouse frames (resists fertilizer/pesticide corrosion)
